Coming up with a proposal plan for your love can be daunting! It's a huge, special moment that's most likely only going to happen once in your lifetime just like marriage. There's so many beautiful locations to proclaim your love and desire to be with your partner for life. 01. GET IN CONTACT WITH US ASAP!
Our calendar can fill up quickly, so as soon as you know you're going to propose, get in touch with us ASAP to start on the planning process especially if there are multiple moving elements in your vision which we could assist with such as setting up decor, hiring a musician, etc.
02. COORDINATION
We'll communicate with you to understand your vision for the proposal via email + video/phone call. We'll discuss the location (happy to share recommendations), any necessary location permits, timing, and any specific elements you want to include in the moment and photos.
We're happy to suggest wardrobe choices that will look good in photographs and suit the chosen location as well.
03. LOCATION SCOUTING
We (Anna or an experienced associate photographer) will visit the location ahead of time to familiarize ourselves with the surroundings even if we've already been there before to identify the best vantage points, consider lighting conditions, potential obstacles, etc. We can also plan to meet you prior to the proposal date if you'd like to location scout with us and pinpoint the exact spot!
04. LOGISTICS
Timing is crucial to capture your big moment! We'll set up a final call to ensure all logistics are finalized such as exact timing, location, photo permits, backup plans. We'll know when and where to be before your actual proposal and be prepared to arrive early to set up and capture any pre-proposal details/moments, so you don't have to worry about a thing but being there!
05. PROPOSAL DAY
Again, you don't have to worry about a thing but getting there and being there in the moment. We'll arrive ahead of time to set up for the big moment being as inconspicuous as possible. Once the moment happens, congrats are in order! We'll then get to couple portraits to show off the ring some more. ;) (and any family/friend photos as well if they happen to be there celebrating with you!)
06. POST-PROPOSAL
We'll share sneak peeks within 48 hours, so you can share the wonderful news with all of your loved ones! The full online proposal gallery will be hand selected and edited by me (Anna) and delivered to you via email in 4 weeks from the proposal date.

How are you handling cancellations and rescheduling with COVID?
If you need to cancel, retainers are non-refundable. But I am not charging any rescheduling fees as long as I am available for the new, rescheduled date!
How and when do we book?
→ To book and secure your date, I require a signed contract and a 20% non-refundable retainer.
→ Clients may book their wedding dates up to 1-2 years out, so engagement sessions are planned shortly after booking their wedding. However, you don't need to book a wedding with me for us to shoot your engagement photos! (engagement sessions are complimentary if you do though!)
→ For couples portrait sessions, reaching out and booking at least 1 month ahead is ideal! For Proposals, at least 1-6+ months ahead.
How much do you charge for travel?
→ A travel fee of $1.00/mile one way apply to locations that are BEYOND 1 hour one-way (typically equivalent to ~50 miles one-way without traffic) from 95132.
How far do you travel?
→ I travel anywhere in the Bay Area / NorCal and beyond!
→ Airfare, at least 1-2 day stay (depending on duration of travel), and/or transportation are to be covered for me + possibly a second shooter for sessions & weddings beyond 3 hours away (one-way) from San Jose, CA.
How and when should we pay you?
→ Venmo, major credit cards, debit cards, and ACH/bank transfers are accepted via your client portal.
→ 20% non-refundable retainer is required to book portrait sessions and to secure your date.
→ The rest is due the day of the session or can be made in advance.
When and how do we receive our photos?
→ WHEN: Sneak peeks are shared within 72 hours from your proposal, 2 to 4 weeks on your full gallery.
→ HOW: I'll send a gallery with the finished, high-res photos via email for you to download and share.
Don’t forget to back up your images ASAP!
Can I extend the session on the day of?
→ Yes, definitely! If you end up needing more time for the proposal or extra after-proposal portraits, extra time can be requested and added to your package/invoice on the day of or in advance.
Do I have to order prints through you?
→ Not at all! Every package includes printing rights meaning you can order your prints anywhere as long as they're used for personal reasons!
→ The online gallery that I deliver does have a print store where you can directly choose and order prints with ProDPI, a professional photo lab that makes high quality prints.
Can you send us the "raw" pictures?
→ Nope!
1. I literally shoot in a “RAW” format on my camera to retain better details especially when editing.
2. You’re hiring me for the photos you see on here which are my fully edited, finished work with nice and crisp colors and quality.
→ Giving the “raw”, unedited photos is like a chef giving you an unseasoned, bland dish. So please trust me & the process!
